BIG BATTERIES  for the   SMART GRID

FERC Commissioner LaFleur visits Primus Power

HAYWARD, CA.  May 29, 2012 -- Primus Power, a leader in grid-scale energy storage, hosted a visit from Cheryl A. LaFleur, a Commissioner with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).  Ms. LaFleur is in the San Francisco Bay Area to attend and deliver an address to the Silicon Valley Energy Storage Symposium.  She took time out of her busy schedule to see first-hand some of the innovations underway at leading storage companies like Primus.

Primus is an active participant in regulatory proceedings, both at the California state level and nationally.  In the October 2011 FERC Order 755 “Pay for Performance” Primus was quoted numerous times in the final ruling.  “Energy storage is both technical and regulatory challenge”, commented Tom Stepien, Primus Power’s CEO.  “We are spending effort to help make sure that regulations affecting energy storage include all storage technologies, are market-based and consider both large and small companies.  We applaud FERC for their recent orders and encourage completion of current efforts to streamline the accounting related to storage systems.”
